Melissa Harris-Perry: President Obama Mentioned Poverty More in Last 4 Weeks than in his Last 4 Years

Perry is a staunch supporter of this President. But she is willing question some of Obama's lack of interest in the people who helped put him in office. She previously demanded that he go to Chicago and address gun violence. And he did. The problem is he is addressing these issues after he was re-elected. President Obama barely, if at all, mentioned poverty during the previous campaign. If only the left, including Perry, had demanded he address the suffering of the 99 percent during the last campaign. Dr.Cornel West did. Perry today discussed Obama's "new found passion" for poverty on her program. He mentioned poverty 4 times during the recent SOTU. That's more than is his previously 4 SOTUs combined, she said.
